UnderExposed Closing Weekend Gigs

Having taken a roll of film at the middle-weekend Saturday night UnderExposed gig, I decided to go back to digital for the last couple of gigs. Not sure why, as I had been delighted at the results of using and developing a roll of film for the first time in over three years; possibly because the previous week’s gig had had such terrible lighting and I thought I’d play around with my digital camera at much higher ISOs (although in the end the lighting was much better for these final two gigs and I could keep the ISO speed at more sensible levels). The last weekend of gigs at the exhibition was bands from the poppier side of the musical spectrum, somewhere I guess I don’t go very often. Having never seen any of the bands playing before, I thoroughly enjoyed the two gigs and it was a great way to round of the exhibition. Roll on UnderExposed 2010.

  1. What did you think of the Fresh Goods?

I was pleasantly surprised by all the bands on that final weekend, especially as hadn’t though much of Villains of Wilhem the previous week; they rock so hard that they obviously forgot to come up with some songs. Surprised (and a bit saddened) that they won the Road to V.

But even though keytars are plain wrong I liked them, apart from the medley of covers they did; just a bit too wedding band for me. From photographic view really enjoyed Travelling So-And-Sos (what is it with all the really terrible band names though?). Their singer was great to photograph.

Great shots. I went to uni with Georgia Potter. True story.

(Was she any good? I remember her sounding a lot like Ani Difranco?)

So you got all the dirt then 😛

From memory, yes. i didn’t actually write any blog notes after the gig, which i normally do when I set up a draft post, hence a lack of words and just the photos.

ps did you go to the exhibition? I keep bumping into people who ask me how it went and then get sheepish and embarrassed and umm and ahh when I ask them if they went…
